SECURITY MATTERS

Security touches every aspect of our lives.

Crime is taking its toll on society and when one considers the contribution security companies are making towards employment; taxes and levies one has to ponder on the possibility that it may not be in the interest of governments to reduce crime.

Sadly, when crime is running rampant the very people appointed to serve and protect are incapacitated and their ability stretched to the limit and in some cases are assigned to protect the people from the very people who have been appointed to protect and serve.

Crime is not limited to housebreaking; robberies and cash-in-transit heist. White collar crime is on the increase while issues like high-jacking; kidnapping; black mailing and terrorism have become daily occurrences.

Organisational security demands a complex area of expertise.

Just consider the extent of information security, organized crime, terrorism and fraud.

These threats are syndicated and highly organised making detection and management thereof more difficult. The relationship between how a company operates and implements the risk portfolio has become interdependent. As a result of this, higher emphasis is now being placed on the security profile.

Organisations are seeking out new methods to manage their risks and threats while security departments are broadening their security portfolio within the organisation.

No organisation is exempt from these threats. The amount of breaches that occur from within the nucleus an organisation is too significant to ignore!
